High Fat Diet: Pick Your Disease


This chart displays how increasing the fat in your diet results in a variety of diseases. Notice how heart disease is right there at the same point as the Atkins and Paleo diet. As a side note, there are some studies out there that show a Paleo diet is beneficial to your health and lowers your risk of heart disease. But when you look a little deeper you will see that these studies compared Paleo eaters to SAD eaters. Obviously, if you remove all the processed junk from your diet, as Paleo recommends, you will see improvements in your health. This does NOT however mean Paleo is ideal. It’s highly acid forming and as a low carb diet, it’s nutrient poor, which we now know starves your cells of vitality. It’s also way too high on fat, which is why it’s right there next to heart disease.

But notice also on this chart that the average raw food diet is also too high in fat. It’s higher in fat that the Standard American Diet. That is because of all of the nut seed butters spread on nut seed crackers, the rich yummy raw chocolates made from coconut butters, and the endless use of olive oil. I used to pour olive oil on everything! I was using fat to substitute for the sugars I was “not allowed” as a diabetic. You can only imagine how shocked I was to discover that my 23 years of veganism could actually have caused my suffering from diabetes, exhaustion, and daily chest pains. My body was slowly collapsing. I am 100% convinced that reducing the fat in my diet saved my life.
