13 Dec Effects of Pasteurizing Milk and Links to Diabetes
There was an interesting study conducted on pasteurized milk. 10 calves were fed only pasteurized milk. Meaning the milk was heated to kill all pathogens and fed via a bottle. Within two weeks 9 out of 10 calves died of malnutrition. The reason for this is that heating milk also kills all the nutrients.In addition, milk is loaded with growth hormones fed to the cows to enlarge their utters to make more milk and then antibiotics to fight the infections this causes. The milk is also where pesticides from the genetically modified feed accumulates.
If you take home one lesson from this please let it be to stop feeding your kids milk! It is totally void of nutrition and loaded with harmful health risks. In the short term common effects are ear infections, allergies, asthma constipation and acne. Long term effects include higher risks of prostate and ovarian cancer, type 1 diabetes, multiple sclerosis, atherosclerosis, inflammation, premature aging, and higher cholesterol levels. Get dairy out of your diet and that of your family’s please! That goes for baby formula especially! There are plenty of plant-based options on google.
As for adults, it takes literally one minute to make hemp or flax milk. Blend a quarter cup of seeds with a cup to two of water depending on how think you want it. That’s it. So easy! No preservatives, no HFCS. All natural vitamin rich milk. I’ll include some recipes for you to play with.
