Nature designs things whole with all the nutrients we need in the exact quantities we need. And each nutrient comes with at least 8 other co-nutrients that aid in the digestion and absorption of that nutrient. That’s why I don’t advise supplements. Extracting one element is not how nature designed it, nor how our bodies are designed to accept it. And yes… that includes multi-vitamins. Because that still won’t account for the thousands of phytochemicals that come perfectly packaged in whole plant food. We cannot stuff all of nature’s brilliance into a pill no matter how hard we try.
Your best bet for getting all the nutrients your body needs is to eat a wide variety of fruits, vegetables, nuts, and seeds. Diabetics must eat fruit too! They are loaded with vitamins and simple sugars that our brains and cells need to function properly. In order to incorporate more fruit, you’ll have to lower your fat intake.
