My interest in health began 23 years ago when my Mama and I choose to become Vegan. She studied at Hippocrates Health Institute in Florida and would teach me what she learned. Over the years I enjoyed many courses, seminars, and expos around the world on health.

I Scream, You Scream, We All Screams For Protein!

I Scream, You Scream, We All Screams For Protein!

Alright, the section you all have been waiting for… Protein! Any vegan will attest that the first question after announcing being vegan is guaranteed…

Where do you get your protein? How this excessive need for protein got mainstream I’m not sure. Well I could guess which industry started that one but in any case, let me reassure you…

The largest animals that ever lived on this planet were herbivores. The titanosourus weighed approximately 96 tons and was a plant eater. Elephants, gorillas, and horses are among the strongest animals to walk the earth now and are also 100% vegan. Plants offer all the protein their body needs and same goes for yours.
OK, here’ s a question for you: When in a human’s lifetime do you suppose we need the most protein? Think about it… from being born till your dead… when are your protein needs highest?

That’s right… when you’re an infant doubling in size every couple months. If we use that an indicator then we should be able to turn to breast milk for the answer to our needs. Breast milk contains 6% protein. Just 6%!
The truth is our body recycles protein very efficiently. Each time a cell is broken down the protein from that cell is reused. So even if you are a body builder, you don’t need that much. You need more than a couch potato but I doubt you are doubling in size every two months. And even if you were 6% would be sufficient.
